This morning’s terrorist attacks have paralyzed the
entertainment industry and have prompted the postponement of two
television specials including the Latin Grammy Awards and the
Primetime Emmy Awards.

The second annual Latin Grammys, which were to be held in Los
Angeles tonight, were canceled this morning.

The 53rd annual primetime Emmy Awards has also announced that
the show will be rescheduled at a more appropriate time.

In addition, amusement parks such as Disneyland, Universal
Studios and Sea World also closed today.

Disneyland Resorts, which did not open today, released an
official message this morning on its Web site after notification of
the attacks.

“In an abundance of caution, Disneyland Resorts closed its
theme parks, shopping, entertainment and recreation complexes on
Tuesday, Sept. 11.,” according to the statement. “The
decision to reopen will be made when more information is
known.”

Eliot Sekuler, vice president of publicity and public relations
for Universal Studios and City Walk in Universal City, Calif. said
the park will reopen after monitoring news developments.

Meanwhile, all restaurants, retail stores and entertainment
venues associated with Universal are closed.

The Los Angeles County Fair, which would have regularly opened
today at 11 a.m., was closed out of deference to the victims of the
attacks and their families, according to communications and public
relations manager Wendy Talarico.

The fair is scheduled to reopen tomorrow morning.
