The UCLA men’s golf “˜B’ team won the Anteater
Invitational, which ended Tuesday at the Santa Ana Country Club.
The UCLA “˜B’ team finished with a 54-hole total of 872
(8-over par), 10 strokes ahead of UC Irvine (882, +18), which was
second among the 10-team field. Freshman Peter
Campbell had the best score among the Bruins with a 215
(1-under par). Campbell finished fourth overall in the 57-player
field, two strokes behind the winner, Santa Clara’s
Justin Ahasic (213, -3). Two other UCLA freshmen
also finished in the top 10. Joakim Renstrom
finished seventh overall (217, +1) and Chris
Heintz finished eighth (218, +2). Rounding out the Bruin
lineup were senior Roy Moon, who finished in 28th
(228, +12) and sophomore Breene Murphy finished in
41st (232, +16).
GYMNASTICS: UCLA gymnast Jeanette
Antolin was named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday.
Antolin helped the Bruins tie the all-time single-meet scoring mark
Sunday with a 198.875-197.175 win over Oregon State. Antolin won
the all-around competition with a score of 39.875, a career-high
and the fifth-highest score in NCAA history.
WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD: UCLA is ranked
No. 5 in this week’s Trackwire Top 25, and is projected by
Trackwire to score 43 points at the NCAA Indoor Championships. LSU
is ranked first, projected to finish with 52 points.
MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD: UCLA is ranked No.
8 in this week’s Trackwire Top 25, and projected by Trackwire
to score 21 points at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Arkansas is
ranked No. 1 and projected to score 76.
