Stretch pants, leggings, tights; whatever you want to call them,
they have revolutionized this year’s fashionable silhouette
whether you like it or not. This year’s fashionable legs have
traversed from the shape of boot cut jeans and fitted shirts worn
above them to longer, larger shirts over legs seen for the shape
they are.
These pants can be dressed up or dressed down, but they are
re-dressing and addressing what fancy looks like. Casual wear is
making its way into the dressy format, with bold steps being made
by leggings. Even guys’ jeans are getting more fitted in the
form of leggings’ more conventional counter-part, skinny
jeans.
With the silhouette of fashion being tapered towards the legs,
it brings new freedom to shape, color and size of shirt that can be
worn. If one thing did it all, it was the reintroduction of
leggings to popular fashion. They are the hottest fashion item of
2006.
