The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government representing the undergraduate student body at UCLA. - Directors of the JazzReggae Festival said they plan to reduce the budget of the festival this year to increase the festival’s viability for the future.
Agenda
- The council unanimously approved
an allocation of $1,965 from the Contingency Programming Fund. - The
council added the Daily Bruin and Bruinwalk.com referendum to the ballot of the upcoming election with an 11-1-0 vote. The council unanimously voted to amend the language to specify that the student fee from the referendum will go to the Associated Students UCLA Communications Board, which will then allocate that money to the Daily Bruin and Bruinwalk.com.

Heather Rosen said she attended a meeting with Daily Bruin staff to discuss ways to
improve communication between USAC and the Daily Bruin. She also met with
members of the Senior Class Giving Campaign to discuss their initiative to donate a
symbolic $20.16 per senior to give back to UCLA departments and facilities. - Internal Vice President Heather
Hourdequin said the hard deadline to submit items for the
agenda is Thursday at 5 p.m. - External Vice President Zach Helder said he met with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Los
Angeles earlier this week to discuss her debt-free college plan. He said his staff and students under the Bruin Defenders program completed 119 unique congressional meetings in their trip to Washington, D.C. - Academic Affairs Commissioner
