Official reports surfaced Wednesday that freshman wide receiver recruit Cordell Broadus will return to the UCLA football program after choosing to leave the team in August 2015.

Scout.com reported Wednesday that Broadus would try out as a walk-on March 29 after initially deciding not to play college football.

The Orange County Register reported that Broadus has been working out with Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee. Broadus’s decision comes at a good time for the Bruins, who lost receiver Jordan Payton to graduation and tight end Thomas Duarte to the NFL Draft.

Broadus never reported to fall training camp in San Bernardino last August. Concrete reasons as to why were never revealed but it was widely believed that Broadus chose to focus on film school instead. The receiver will return as a walk-on and not reclaim his scholarship.
