The Museum of Jurassic Technology does not feature any objects from the Jurassic period, nor does it showcase anything technological, unless you consider a 17th-century ornate, glass-structured magnetic oracle meant to channel messages from the heavens via magnets as something technological. Trumpeter heralds eclectic influences

Festival screens restored moving images

The UCLA Film and Television Archive's 14th biennial Festival of Preservation includes clips of Alfred Hitchcock making faces at the camera during the Hollywood premiere of "North by Northwest," gay and lesbian couples speaking about their struggles in the first-ever feature-length documentary about the subject in 1977, and the sole surviving copy of one of Sri Lanka's most important films, "Gamperaliya." Read more...
