UCLA alumnus explores fish out of water family dynamics in short film

UCLA student finds entrepreneurial spirit in his slime business Sliimeyhoney

Mark Lin is cooking up a sweet storm of slimes. The first-year pre-business economics student is the creator behind the online slime business Sliimeyhoney. He said he first started making slime as a hobby when it was trending around 2018 and began his business in June 2020 as a way to share his products and the stress-relieving effect of playing with slime. Alumnus-led film ‘Havana’ shines light on historical LGBTQ+ love story in Cuba

“Havana” dives into the intricacies of hiding one’s true self from their society. Alumnus and director Faith Strongheart’s short film “Havana” was selected to run as a part of PBS’ “Fine Cut” – a showcase of short films from up-and-coming Southern Californian filmmakers – in lieu of being awarded Best Student Film at the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival.
