‘Songs of Ourselves’ spotlights diversity with concerts, breakout panels

Alumnus’ sci-fi musical inspired by aliens, monsters and Soviet Union

Cornell Christianson uses a scene from the sci-fi film “Invaders from Mars” as the backdrop for his latest musical. Set in front of images of a sandy hill, characters are captured by aliens who have just descended from their spaceship. Read more...

Newly formed Unravel addresses fashion sustainability on campus

Grace Reynolds created Unravel at UCLA with the goal of unraveling misconceptions about fashion production. The fourth-year economics and global studies student organized the club at the beginning of spring quarter, branching off from a sustainable clothing campaign in E3, an environmental sustainability club on campus. Faculty composers to showcase musical pieces inspired by poems, nature

Designathon encourages collaboration of students with diverse experience, perspectives

Students designed apps to facilitate recycling on campus and vibrant graphics depicting the circle of life at Designathon on Saturday. Designathon, hosted by Bruin Entrepreneurs and UCLA’s Creative Lab, was a daylong event that provided educational resources for students interested in design, such as interactive workshops, panels featuring design industry professionals and a growth-themed competition for student designers.
