The UCLA Anderson School of Management will launch a new sports leadership and management minor for undergraduate students this fall. Laurie Summers, the special advisor of academic initiatives at the School of Management, said the minor – which is set to launch at the same time as a real estate minor – reflects a growing demand for specialized management coursework at UCLA. A senior lecturer of Russian and Czech received an excellence in teaching award for expanding Russian and Slavic language education. The American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages awarded Susan Kresin, a senior lecturer of Russian and Czech who joined UCLA’s faculty in 1996, with the annual national distinction. The UCLA Anderson School of Management will introduce a real estate minor for undergraduate students next fall. The new minor, housed in the School of Management, aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop real estate fundamentals across public, private and nonprofit sectors, according to the School of Management’s website.
