UC whistleblower hotline leads to limited enforcement of COVID-19 protocols at UCLA

Some students are concerned about how their peers are handling the COVID-19 pandemic and think UCLA could do more to enforce COVID-19 guidelines. UCLA’s outline of student conduct and policies for COVID-19 gives regulations for large gatherings, and states that students can face academic consequences or exclusion from UCLA housing for violating UCLA’s policies. California to provide tax relief for businesses affected by COVID-19 restrictions

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday that California businesses could receive temporary tax relief because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the new program, businesses that file less than $1 million in sales tax are eligible to have three extra months to pay their income taxes. Read more...

Travelers to LA will have to submit online form, acknowledge recommended quarantine

LA County meets criteria to enact stay-at-home order after COVID-19 cases surge

Los Angeles County met its previously established criteria to enact a stay-at-home order after a record number of COVID-19 cases Monday. LA County health officials previously warned it may enact a three-week stay-at-home order if the five-day average number of new COVID-19 cases passed 4,500 – the county reached a 4,533 five-day average Monday.
