Muslim Student Association pushes for adequate halal dining options on campus

The Muslim Student Association is working with UCLA administrators to create more halal dining accommodations on campus. Hamza Mirza, treasurer of the MSA and a fourth-year history student, said business closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic have contributed to a lack of options for Muslim students who require halal meals. UCLA Labor Center renames building to honor Reverend James Lawson Jr.

MSA continues search for communal prayer space on campus

UCLA extends online instruction until Jan. 28 amid rising COVID-19 cases

UCLA will postpone the return to in-person instruction through Jan. 28, university administrators announced Friday.  The campuswide email attributed the delay to regional and campus trends of positive COVID-19 rates and staffing concerns. Read more...

UCLA Housing launches Epicuria at Covel, gives insight on dining operations

UCLA Housing launched a new residential restaurant in fall quarter and implemented new dining concepts to help meet the need for tens of thousands of meals served daily on the Hill. Read more...

Bruins voice concerns over campus return plan, COVID-19 safety measures

Students returning from winter break expressed concern about the university’s winter quarter instruction plans. On Dec. 18, UCLA announced that instruction would be online for the first two weeks of winter quarter because of rising cases of COVID-19 from the spread of the omicron variant in Los Angeles County.
