Janss brothers’ history of discrimination prompts call for changing name of steps

UCLA Labor Center releases report detailing challenges facing student workers

The coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated the difficulties students with jobs face, a UCLA report found. The UCLA Labor Center and the Dolores Huerta Labor Institute released a report and supplemental brief June 23, which looked at the challenges faced by working students at public colleges and universities in Los Angeles County and how these students have been affected by COVID-19. UCLA to create new Black Resource Center in major step for Black student community

This post was updated June 28 at 2:10 p.m. UCLA will create a Black Resource Center on campus, a UCLA spokesperson confirmed Thursday.  The Black Resource Center will be in the center of campus, said UCLA spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez in an emailed statement.  The Black Graduate Student Association and the Afrikan Student Union said in a joint statement Thursday that the creation of a Black Resource Center is a monumental step for the Black community at UCLA. UCLA programs aim to help students facing food insecurity during pandemic

As students and their families face reduced income because of disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, many are becoming more vulnerable to food insecurity.
