Administrator Alfred Osborne announced as Anderson’s interim dean

A senior administrator will serve as the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s interim dean, the university announced Tuesday. Alfred Osborne Jr., the current senior associate dean for external affairs at Anderson, has agreed to serve as interim dean after Judy Olian, the current dean, finishes her term at the end of the academic year. UCLA’s Policy 862 to pay for security costs of major campus events

Research symposium showcases facets and goals of LGBTQ program

UCLA’s LGBTQ Studies Program celebrated the 20th anniversary of the LGBTQ studies minor Friday. The program held a research symposium in which a panel of QScholars – undergraduate students pursuing LGBTQ-based research – and visiting speakers discussed their research and personal experience with sexuality by telling stories. Transfers magazine drives transportation research into accessible format

A new UCLA magazine that launched Wednesday features work from other universities to make transportation research more accessible to students, policymakers and the public. The UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies released its first issue of Transfers Magazine, which features research from the Pacific Southwest Region University Transportation Center, said Madeline Brozen, associate director of ITS and Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies at UCLA and editor in chief of Transfers Magazine. USAC proposes installment of cameras in Kerckhoff in response to hate crimes

Student leaders are calling for security cameras to be installed at Kerckhoff Hall after several hate crimes occurred during the school year. The Undergraduate Students Association Council first proposed adding security cameras to the third and fourth floors of Kerckhoff during its meeting May 8 because the Academic Affairs commissioner’s door was vandalized with a homophobic slur earlier in May. Students respond to queerphobia on campus with solidarity photo campaign

Students posed for a photo shoot with their friends in Bruin Plaza on Wednesday afternoon to show solidarity for those affected by queerphobia on campus. The UCLA LGBT Resource Center and the Queer Alliance at UCLA hosted their second Hate is Not a Bruin Value photo campaign on Wednesday in response to Academic Affairs Commissioner Divya Sharma’s office door being vandalized by a homophobic slur last week.
