Academic Advancement Program adds services with increased funds

A peer tutoring program has expanded its services with funds from increased student fees this academic year. The Academic Advancement Program, which provides peer learning and academic support to students, received additional funding from the Social Justice Referendum. Read more...

Graduate student unearths ancient Egyptian life stories from burial texts

A UCLA student discovered that ancient Egyptians used material objects to construct their social identities just as people do today. Marissa Stevens, a graduate student in the department of Near Eastern languages and cultures, studied how ancient Egyptians used funerary papyri to convey social status and personalities by examining social documents buried with the dead. Jane and Terry Semel’s gift to help expand Healthy Campus Initiative

UCLA will establish a new center for its initiative to promote health and well-being on campus following a donation from philanthropists. Veggie Grill to sprout on campus, offers exclusively plant-based menu

Ted Lieu no longer to speak at UCLA School of Law commencement

Congressman Ted Lieu pulled out of the UCLA School of Law’s commencement Friday because of the University of California’s ongoing labor dispute. The law school announced Lieu, who represents the congressional district that includes UCLA and Westwood, would be its commencement speaker in March. Read more...
