Former Reagan adviser encourages political debate among students

A policy adviser to former President Ronald Reagan said at an event Wednesday he thinks fascism has always been a fundamentally leftist ideology. Law school opens clinic to provide free documentary film law assistance

Independent documentary filmmakers can now receive free legal assistance from a new clinic at the UCLA School of Law. The Documentary Film Legal Clinic, which launched this month as part of the Ziffren Center for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law, helps documentary filmmakers with legal issues they face, including copyright law and public records access. UCLA Transportation partners with uberPOOL to create flat-rate promotion

Students can travel anywhere within a five-mile radius from campus for a flat rate of $5.99 starting Thursday. To use the service, students will need to register or update their Uber accounts with their UCLA emails and apply a promotion code, which is available on the UCLA Transportation website and will also be sent out to students through a campuswide email, said David Karwaski, senior associate director of UCLA Transportation. Visitors to campus release mice in Bruin Plate, cause commotion

Outside guests to campus released two mice inside Bruin Plate as a prank Sunday, according to a statement released by UCLA Dining Services. The mice were captured immediately, and UCLA Dining Services is working to address the misconduct, according to the statement. Read more...

Anderson School of Management Dean Judy Olian steps down

The dean of the UCLA Anderson School of Management is stepping down to lead another university. Judy Olian, who has served as Anderson’s dean since 2006, will be leaving her position at the end of the academic year to become the president of Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, said Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Scott Waugh in a message to faculty and staff Monday.
