UCLA students, local residents argue over proposal to increase housing

Morton La Kretz donates $5M to Botany Building for renovations

A UCLA alumnus donated $5 million to support the renovation of the UCLA Botany Building to enhance research in plant, conservation and environmental biology. The gift, from Morton La Kretz, a philanthropist and real estate developer, will renovate the building’s entrances and construct a botanical teaching laboratory on the first floor and conservation research laboratories on the third floor. UCLA to lower speed limit on all campus roadways

This article was updated Sept. 26 at 2:46 p.m. UCLA will be lowering its on-campus speed limit from 25 to 20 mph starting Tuesday. UCLA Transportation announced Monday it is lowering UCLA’s campuswide speed limit as part of its “20 is Plenty” campaign, which promotes safety for campus pedestrians and bicyclists. Read more...

UCLA Transportation to launch bike share program on campus in October
