Student LGBTQ leaders to attend first community leadership retreat

Student leaders from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community at UCLA will attend the first LGBTQ leadership retreat this weekend. The LGBT Campus Resource Center and the LGBTQ Leadership Council collaborated to organize the retreat, which will aim to connect students with similar interests and experiences, and increase their confidence in leadership roles. Residential Life adds new printers throughout the Hill

Students now have access to 10 new printers on the Hill 24 hours a day. The Residential Life learning centers and UCLA Housing and Hospitality Services collaborated to implement printing kiosks at various places on the Hill over winter break, said UCLA spokesperson Rebecca Kendall. Read more...

Groups continue protests against history professor Gabriel Piterberg

Students with several campus groups continued their protests against a professor accused of sexual harassment Wednesday. Bruin Consent Coalition, United Auto Workers Local 2865 and Bruins Against Sexual Harassment members held up signs in the hallway outside the classroom in Broad Art Center where Gabriel Piterberg, a history professor, was lecturing. UCLA skilled trade workers end five-day strike protesting wages

Hundreds of workers waved plastic-wrapped signs that read “UC unfair! Strike!” in the air, undeterred by the rain. Members of Teamsters Local 2010 marched on campus and throughout Westwood several times Tuesday as part of their push for higher wage increases. Read more...

Former ADPi house mother starts a new chapter after 25-year stint

Graduate students eligible for free passes to LA Fitness

Graduate students can now work out at the LA Fitness on Wilshire Boulevard for free. Some graduate students were concerned they would not have a place to exercise when the university announced in 2015 it would replace their gym, the Kinross Recreation Center, with the Geffen Academy. Read more...
