Donation to School of Law funds research on LGBTQ rights and diversity

A former UCLA lecturer and associate professor recently donated to the UCLA School of Law to promote research on LGBTQ rights and diversity. David Sanders, a former UCLA psychiatry associate clinical professor and lecturer, donated $2 million to create the David Sanders Distinguished Scholar position and support the Dukeminier Awards Journal. Solar-powered charging umbrellas installed outside of Bruin Café

Students can now charge their electronic devices outside at solar-powered umbrellas located on the Hill. The Renewable Energy Association at UCLA and the UCLA Housing and Hospitality Services installed four solar panel umbrellas outside of Bruin Café last Wednesday. Read more...

Humanities Dialogues provides casual space to discuss meaning of words

Students, staff and faculty have been discussing what words like “democracy,” “humanity” and “heroism” mean in meetings over the course of the year. Humanities Dialogues consists of biweekly meetings, in which participants discuss a word and the different meanings associated with it. Read more...

USAC creates Parking Advocacy Task Force to address commuter concerns

A new task force aims to advocate for improved parking and commuting options for students. Social Justice Advocates program persists despite facing criticism

A social justice advocacy group on campus plans to continue with its work despite backlash from conservative websites. Social Justice Advocates, a UCLA Residential Life project that holds workshops on diversity and inclusion topics, has been criticized by conservative websites for paying students to hold workshops.
