UCLA skilled workers union calls for higher wages in protest
About 40 union members protested Thursday outside the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center to advocate for higher wages. Teamsters Local 2010, the union representing UCLA administrative, clerical and skilled trade workers, argued their wages are below market value and lower than those received by workers at other California institutions. UCPD investigating online comment made toward sorority
University police are investigating an online comment made toward the Alpha Phi sorority Monday. The comment, written in the comments section of the sorority’s recruitment video on YouTube, was a short written excerpt from the video manifesto released by Elliot Rodger, the man who killed six people in Isla Vista, California, in May 2014. LGBT center to kick off National Coming Out Week with resource fair
The LGBT Campus Resource Center will hold its sixth annual resource fair Friday in anticipation of National Coming Out Week, which begins Monday. SWC’s Well-Fair informs students of health, wellness opportunities
Students were able to get information about health- and wellness-related internships and speak with committee leaders at an event Monday. The undergraduate student government Student Wellness Commission held a resource fair called the Well-Fair in Bruin Plaza to encourage students to learn more about wellness-related issues and become involved in SWC, said Christina Lee, the undergraduate student government Student Wellness commissioner.
