UCLA explores remote control lock system for classroom doors

UCLA officials are looking to install a system that would lock classroom doors remotely, following last month’s murder-suicide. A committee will decide between different lock systems that would allow officials to lock doors from a central location in case of an emergency, said Art Kirkland, director of the Office of Emergency Management. New gym for grad students to open before KREC closes its doors

Graduate students can visit a new gym that will open by the time the Kinross Recreation Center closes on Jan. 1. Michael Skiles, president of the Graduate Students Association, said the new gym will offer all the same amenities and local convenience that the current graduate student gym offers for five to 10 years until a permanent, equally convenient location can be established. UCLA Circle K wins international fundraising and achievement awards

The UCLA chapter of Circle K International recently won awards for club achievement and fundraising. The club received these awards at the 61st annual Circle K International Convention held in Toronto from June 22 to 26, said Juliana Deer, former administrative vice president of CKI and a rising fourth-year biology student.
