A fire that started 1.8 miles away from the UCLA campus on Wednesday evening has been 60% contained. The Sepulveda fire started around 11 p.m. Wednesday near the Getty Center, prompting evacuation warnings bordering the campus. Read more...

As wildfires swept across Los Angeles County, UCLA students volunteered to support recovery efforts. The fires – which have burned over 40,000 acres and displaced residents across the region – prompted urban and regional planning graduate student Alex Sun to step up as both a volunteer for distribution centers and a student of disaster management.
