Los Angeles City Council votes to raise minimum wage to $15
The Los Angeles City Council voted Tuesday to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020. As a result of the 14-1 vote, City Attorney Mike Feuer will write an ordinance for the proposal and submit it to the city council later this year. Read more...

Student awarded Library Prize for research in sciences, arts and humanities
Nine students were awarded the Library Prize for Undergraduate Research as part of Undergraduate Research Week, which ended Friday. The prizes consisted of seven categories, and winners were awarded cash prizes ranging from $250 to $450 for major and minor projects depending on each paper’s length. Read more...
