Rubio’s announces Ackerman Union location has ‘closed indefinitely’

On Jan. 2, four days before classes began for winter quarter, a sign outside of Rubio’s in Ackerman Union stated “Rubio’s is closed indefinitely” and advised students to go to Taco Bell Express – which is located one floor below – instead. TFT Dean Brian Kite appointed as dean and vice provost of graduate education

School of Theater, Film and Television Dean Brian Kite will be UCLA’s next dean and vice provost of graduate education. In a Dec. 20 announcement, then-Interim Chancellor Darnell Hunt announced that Kite, who had been TFT dean since November 2023 – and, prior to that, the interim dean since 2020 – would be appointed to the role effective Feb. Teaching Kitchen hosts “Healthier Baking” class to teach students cooking basics

“I’ve always wanted to open a bakery,” said second-year business economics student Kayla Nguyen. Although Nguyen’s current career plans gravitate more towards marketing than entrepreneurship, she got a taste of her dream – alongside seven other students – at the UCLA Teaching Kitchen’s last “Healthier Baking” class before winter break.
