Health care reform is happening within the UCLA Health System, but it is not necessarily President Barack Obama's bill driving the reform, administrators say. In a presentation to the UC Board of Regents on March 17, John Stobo, the UC senior vice president for health sciences and services, emphasized that the UC must address spiraling health care costs regardless of the fate of the bill, which has been threatened with repeal by Republicans.
