Vaccines or ivermectin?: Students navigate disinformation dialogues in Fiat Lux 19

“Climate change is a hoax.” “The earth is flat.” “Vaccines have microchips in them.” These beliefs persist despite having been widely rejected by scientists. During the COVID-19 pandemic, some conservative politicians promoted the use of the drug ivermectin, which is used to kill parasites, as a cure for the virus – even though the United States Food and Drug Administration did not authorize its use and the National Institutes of Health explicitly advised against it. Elizabeth Kemper to retire as Student Legal Services director after 40-year career

Elizabeth Kemper, a legal rights advocate for UCLA students, is retiring after 40 years. Kemper, director of UCLA Student Legal Services, will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 academic school year, leaving behind a legacy of decades-long advocacy and efficiently meeting the legal challenges students face.
