A UCLA study found that harnessing the nation’s waste could potentially produce large amounts of energy and cut greenhouse gas emissions. One of the study’s key conclusions was that employing all available wastes in the contiguous United States to create bioenergy could possibly generate 3.1 to 3.8 exajoules of renewable energy. A study conducted at UCLA found that the “crazy cat lady” stereotype may be more fiction than fact. The results found there is no substantial difference in self-reported symptoms of depression and anxiety between people who own cats, dogs or no pets, and concluded there is no evidence to support the “crazy cat lady” stereotype.
