UCLA Health program aims to improve fitness in LA schools
School-affiliated personnel from 11 middle and high schools in Los Angeles County can use newly furnished fitness centers funded by UCLA Health this year. The UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind, which promotes childhood health, aims to reduce obesity rates in the Los Angeles Unified School District by funding fitness centers. Read more...

Students intern in Uganda to grow a safer, cleaner environment
Students in a small Ugandan village jumped from their seats to greet Harveen Sekhon every time she entered the classroom. Sekhon, a third-year human biology and society student, taught menstrual hygiene and sanitation practices this summer at Johnson Nkosi Memorial Primary School, where some members of the community are single mothers, orphans and children living with HIV and AIDS. Biomedical library to reduce hours during seismic proofing process
