Student aims high with medical marijuana delivery business

Medical marijuana was the only drug that improved Christian Kramme’s stomach pain after spending two years in and out of hospitals. Kramme, a second-year microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics student, believed he had pancreatic cancer when he began experiencing severe stomach pain and a lack of appetite in 2012. UCLA’s X1 Robotics seeks to engage students in hands-on projects

Engineering school creates endowed chair named for former dean

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science created the Vijay K. Dhir Chair in Engineering on Friday after receiving donations totaling $1 million. The position, named after the school’s former dean, was created with donations from about 100 alumni, faculty members and other supporters, who worked with Dhir during the 14 years he served as dean. UCLA team of scientists explores Mojave Desert for meteorites

The Mojave Desert’s dusty red plains constitute a vast landscape of sand, creosote bush and cinder-cone mountains – sparse, uninhabited and dry.
