Flying fellow students, Bruin Aviation president shows the sky’s the limit

Undergraduate Students Association Council supports construction of heavy rail

President Joe Biden delivers speech on infrastructure improvements in Westwood

This post was updated Nov. 15 at 3:47 p.m. President Joe Biden gave a speech Thursday at the developing Westwood Veterans Affairs Hospital station – part of the Purple (D Line) Extension Transit Project – promoting his administration’s efforts to expand infrastructure.  The Metro expansion project, which will add seven new stops, including UCLA, to the Purple Line, began in 2019 with local and federal funding, according to the Los Angeles Metro. Study finds electric scooter injury rate rivals that of motorcycles

A recent UCLA study found that the injury rate for electric scooters in West Los Angeles was similar to that of motorcycles. According to the study, published April 6, there has been little research regarding e-scooter injuries despite an increase in e-scooter usage. Read more...

LA Metro expands rideshare service Metro Micro, adds Westwood zone

The Los Angeles Metro launched Metro Micro, a zoned ride-hailing service for short trips, in the Westwood area Sunday. Similar to other ride-hailing services like Uber, Metro Micro provides an on-demand ride through the Metro Micro app, online or by phone within 15 minutes, according to LA Metro. Read more...

Incentive program encourages use of public transportation for Bruin community
