Saturday BruinBus destination changes from Santa Monica to Hollywood

Westwood Community Council recap – Jan. 18

The Westwood Community Council meets several times a year to discuss issues relevant to the Westwood Village business and residential community. Discussion Janet Turner, field representative and constituent services of Congressman Ted Lieu, said the post office recently improved training for mail carriers and the Enterprise Customer Care system, which helps accurately locate packages. BruinBus adds three new stops to routes, more access to Westwood

LA Metro launches new hotline to reduce harassment on trains, buses

Los Angeles Metro launched a 24/7 hotline Jan. 11 for passengers to report sexual harassment on its trains and buses. Counselors from Peace Over Violence, a community advocacy nonprofit, manage the confidential hotline. Read more...

Two residents elected to Westwood Neighborhood Council renter seats

The Westwood Neighborhood Council selected two Westwood residents at its Wednesday meeting to fill recently vacated board seats. Cyrus Baraghoush, a director of coordinated patient services for UCLA Health, and Shelby Kretz, a UCLA doctoral student in urban schooling and nonprofit director, won seats reserved for individuals who rent property in Westwood.
