Election headquarters officials explain LA County vote counting process

It takes one and a half hours to drive from one end of Los Angeles County to the other without traffic. Because it is so large, the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk flies ballots from the outskirts of the county, such as Catalina Island and Lancaster, by helicopter to its election headquarters in Norwalk, California, said Jennifer Stern, an administrative service manager at the county registrar office. Westwood Neighborhood Council recap – Nov. 9

The Westwood Neighborhood Council meets monthly to discuss issues pertaining to Westwood Village and the surrounding areas. USAC looks to expand off-campus housing resources for students

Stickhouse food truck transports gelato to the streets of Westwood

Students walking down Broxton Avenue can stop to see colorful gelato ice pops covered with chocolate and nuts through the window of a food truck. The truck bears the slogan, “From Italy with Love.” Stickhouse, an Italian company serving creamy gelato and fruity sorbets on popsicle sticks, drives through Westwood Village three days a week. Despite new businesses, Westwood lacks men’s apparel store options

Dresses and lace tank tops peek from window displays around Westwood and advertisements picture smiling women welcoming customers into stores. Westwood Village, which advertises itself as having unique boutiques and popular brands, has recently filled some of its empty storefronts with new women’s apparel stores, including Heavenly Couture and My-Dressed.
