El Niño rains cause minor leaks, damages on campus

Last week, El Niño brought heavy rainfall to Westwood, causing minor leaks but no significant damages to the UCLA campus. UCLA Facilities Management and UCLA Housing officials conducted preventative maintenance on roof drains and storm sewers to avoid significant flooding on campus, said UCLA spokesperson Rebecca Kendall. Weekend BruinBus to shuttle students to key LA locations

Students will be able to take free Saturday BruinBus shuttles to one of three Los Angeles shopping districts beginning this weekend, UCLA officials said. The shuttles will take students to the Grove on Fairfax Avenue, downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue on a rotating basis beginning Saturday. Read more...

Napa Valley Grille to close temporarily for renovations

Officials will close Napa Valley Grille on Glendon Avenue Sunday to remodel its interior and renovate the outdoor patio. The California-themed restaurant, which features a bar, outdoor patio and private rooms, will be closed for three months, said Karlee Kunkle, spokeswoman for Tavistock Restaurant Collection, which operates the restaurant.
