Bruins Night Out dishes great deals for students

Westwood’s sixth Bruin’s Night Out event will take place Wednesday night, with more than 40 deals or discounts for UCLA students and a free premier screening of the new season of the television series “Game of Thrones.” The event, which was first held in 2011, will organized by the Westwood Community Council, the undergraduate student government’s Campus Events Commission and General Representative 1 office and, for the first time, HBO. Road to recovery for Westwood still rough despite measures undertaken

Students and other community members can file for candidacy Tuesday to run in the Westwood Neighborhood Council elections. Westwood Neighborhood Council is an advisory board that passes motions related to Westwood residents, organizes community outreach events and provides grants to schools and nonprofit organizations. Animal adoption stalls put up at Farmers Market

Thursday was a good day for 7-year-old Troy – a small black Chihuahua who used to live on the streets of Los Angeles. Despite being the oldest dog at the adoption stall at the Westwood Village Farmers Market, he was the first to find a new home. Read more...
