Opinion: Pre-med, pre-health counselor would help increase diversity in health care

Uprooting systemic racism in health care starts with addressing the lack of diversity in the field. Compared to a white woman, a Black woman has a 22% higher likelihood of dying from heart disease, a 71% higher likelihood of dying from cervical cancer and a 243% higher likelihood of dying from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications, according to NPR.
