UCLA football names six players to national award watch lists

This past spring, redshirt senior wide receiver Shaquelle Evans made it clear he was after a spot in UCLA football's history books as its single-season receiving yards record holder. Three months later, it appears his expectations are being taken seriously, as the Inglewood native was named to the 2013 preseason Biletnikoff Award watch list Tuesday along with 74 of college football's most highly touted wide receivers. NFL teams call on undrafted UCLA players

While four UCLA football players received calls from NFL teams during last weekend’s draft indicating they were being taken, there were plenty of other Bruins sitting at home and fielding calls for a different reason. Read more...

Photo: Tight end Joseph Fauria, who held or tied for the lead in touchdown receptions in all three of his seasons with the Bruins, went undrafted this past weekend, but, like several other former UCLA players, signed with an NFL team after the draft. Fauria will work for a roster spot on the Detroit Lions.
