Football finishes spring training with Spring Showcase, looks to new season

It took them longer than any other FBS program, but the Bruins have finally finished spring camp. UCLA football wrapped up its set of 15 spring practices with its Spring Showcase on Thursday morning at Spaulding Field, a televised practice that included interviews with coaches and players and featured special guest appearances from men’s and women’s basketball coaches Mick Cronin and Cori Close. Football transfers gear up for first game as UCLA players, end of spring ball

The Bruins fielded several key graduate transfers last season, and all of them are returning for 2021. Running back Brittain Brown, left guard Paul Grattan, cornerback Obi Eboh and safety Qwuantrezz Knight all elected to cash in on their extra year of eligibility provided by the NCAA following the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. UCLA football’s defensive line remains strong despite Osa Odighizuwa’s departure

Despite losing a stalwart in the teeth of their defense, the Bruins will have ample bodies to fill the void up front. Consensus first-team All-Pac-12 selection Osa Odighizuwa found a new home in Dallas when the Cowboys selected the defensive lineman in the third round of the NFL Draft on April 30. Read more...

UCLA football builds on quarterbacks’ qualifications with new coach, deep roster

Not only do the Bruins return one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the conference, but they also have experience waiting in the wings. UCLA football currently has six quarterbacks behind incumbent starter rising senior Dorian Thompson-Robinson, including rising redshirt sophomore Chase Griffin, who started two games in place of Thompson-Robinson last season.
