Men’s basketball hires former head coach of ETSU, UAB as assistant

UCLA men’s basketball coach Steve Alford has hired Murry Bartow as his new assistant coach, according to a Monday afternoon press release. The Bartow hiring comes two days after word got out that UCLA would not retain longtime assistant coach David Grace on Saturday. Read more...

David Grace, men’s basketball assistant coach and head recruiter, fired

UCLA men’s basketball coach Steve Alford fired assistant coach David Grace Saturday night, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported. Grace was informed of UCLA’s intent to replace him prior to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in March, according to Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times. Read more...

Kris Wilkes declares for NBA draft, but will not sign an agent

Kris Wilkes will test the waters. The freshman guard has declared for the NBA draft without signing an agent – per a tweet from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein – meaning he maintains his eligibility for a potential sophomore campaign as a Bruin. Read more...
