UCLA Athletics announced a new seating plan for men’s basketball home games in Pauley Pavilion, vastly increasing the number of lower bowl student seats. The student section along the court’s full-length baseline will now fill the entire non-team bench sideline – sections 113-117 – rather than an estimated 60 percent as it had in the last two seasons. Transfer point guard Jon Octeus denied admission to UCLA
Former Colorado State University point guard Jon Octeus has been denied admission at UCLA, Matt Stephens of the Coloradoan reported Monday. Octeus, a senior, first committed to transfer to UCLA in late June and would have been eligible to play immediately, providing the Bruins much-needed depth at point guard. Read more...

UCLA alumnus unveils learning center as gift to former school
Baron Davis glanced out onto the playground from the window of Room 51 at South Park Elementary in Florence-Graham, Calif. About 25 years ago, as a young boy in the Los Angeles Unified School District, he stood in that same spot, looking out onto the basketball courts that he would practice on for hours each day, with hopes of one day being a professional basketball player.
