Al Scates has won more than 1,200 matches and 19 national championships in his 49 years as coach of the UCLA men’s volleyball team. Much of his success has come at Pauley Pavilion, which is closed for renovations.

Senior libero Tom Hastings and the No. 5 Bruins will head to UC Irvine to take on the No. 6 Anteaters tonight at 6 p.m. UCLA is currently enjoying a seven-game winning streak, hitting at a .346 clip while limiting opponents to a .243 percentage during that span.
