Katie Kinnear came off the last wall in the 200 yard butterfly knowing that she had a little bit extra to give. The senior swimmer, who had trailed USC freshman Madison Wright up until that point, propelled herself forward with one final push, finishing with a winning time of 1:56.60 – .22 milliseconds faster than the rival Trojan. Maria Polyakova constantly checked her email waiting for a response from the diving coaches at Stanford, Texas, USC and UCLA. She waited weeks for responses from the first three schools, but it only took three days for UCLA diving coach Tom Stebbins to reply. Read more...
