Seven track and field athletes race off to NCAA championships

Place in the top 12, or go home – that was the situation for all 24 UCLA track and field athletes who competed this weekend. A total of six Bruins managed to make the cut at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Sacramento and will join senior heptathlete Kendall Gustafson at the NCAA championships in Eugene, Oregon. UCLA track and field heads to NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round

The Bruins will send 24 athletes to this week’s NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round as the final descent on the track and field begins. The West Preliminary Round, also known as west regionals, gathers the top 48 track and field athletes of each event from west of the Mississippi River to compete at California State University, Sacramento.
