Former UCLA basketball and volleyball standout Natalie Williams was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday. The 6-foot-2 dual-sport athlete initially earned a scholarship to play basketball for the Bruins but decided to walk on to the women’s volleyball team as a freshman where she finished her career as a four-time All-American. UCLA women’s basketball guard Nirra Fields was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury with the 32nd pick in the WNBA draft Thursday. Fields, who played four years in Westwood, averaged 15.3 points per game this season as she helped lead the Bruins to their first Sweet 16 appearance in 17 years. Read more...
