Sights and Sounds: United Korean Voice

The Arirang Concert Project is organized by UCLA student group United Korean Voice. Its goal is to raise international awareness about Korea. The project was represented through a rendition of instrumental performances on Bruin Plaza on Thursday.

Two weeks ago, a University of California Regents committee voted to approve a tuition hike for the next five years depending on state funding. Daily Bruin Video asked a few students their thoughts on the recent tuition hike proposal and the California Senate Democrats’ alternative proposal to raise nonresident tuition by 17 percent and cut funding for the Middle Class Scholarship. Students raise newborn piglet

  Meet Jellybean, a six-week-old baby piglet. Two UCLA students have raised Jellybean since October and bring her out to campus for other students to see and pet. More »

UCLA students gathered around Meyerhoff Park and marched to Royce Plaza to protest the grand jury’s decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson, who shot a Ferguson citizen, Michael Brown. More »

Brothers show off their freestyle football tricks

Brothers Peter Azzam, a fourth-year physical sciences student, and Daniel Azzam, a third-year neuroscience student, are UCLA students and also professional football freestylers. They founded the Bruin Freestyle Soccer Academy, a community for students to learn and practice the art of freestyle. More »
