“We had one Lunchtime Disco where people created a conga line that was going in and out of the doors onto Wilshire Boulevard and people were doing – dancing up and down the sidewalk and up and down the stairs,” says Allison Agsten, The Hammer Museum’s Curator of Public Engagement. KCHUNG Radio, which broadcasts from above a pho restaurant in Chinatown, continues its residency at the Hammer Museum with Lunchtime Disco – a midday dance party in the Hammer lobby open to all who want a break and are ready to move to groovy dance tunes from all eras, every week through the month of November.

UCLA alum Vincent Ho is starting his own boba business, Koala Tea, featuring all natural ingredients and sweeteners. The Koala Tea boba truck will serve as a launching pad for Ho’s boba business, which will find a permanent home in a Westwood store later this year. More »

Every Monday, dozens of Bruins come together at the Wooden Center to express themselves through the art of burlesque dance. The class is led by UCLA graduate Charisse Skye Aguirre, who believes that “everyone just needs a little outlet to let their fierce female out.” According to Aguirre, it’s more than just a fitness class since burlesque dance offers “an exchange of energy, emotions, and just having a great time” for students at UCLA.
