Students protest against police brutality

UCLA students took part in the #ShutDownA14 protest to promote awareness and action on campus. Several students started at the Bruin Bear, then walked to Powell Library, North Campus, South Campus and finally Wilshire Boulevard, to call for mass resistance to “stop business as usual” on April 14 in an effort to speak out against police brutality. Hunger Project interacts with tenants at Hollywood homeless shelter

Hunger Project, a community service organization, has shifted its focus from packing lunches to more face-to-face interaction with homeless communities across Los Angeles. One way they do this is by volunteering at temporary homeless shelters such as People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) Hollywood, where they cook and serve dinner to the homeless tenants. More »
