Election headquarters officials explain LA County vote counting process

It takes one and a half hours to drive from one end of Los Angeles County to the other without traffic. Because it is so large, the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk flies ballots from the outskirts of the county, such as Catalina Island and Lancaster, by helicopter to its election headquarters in Norwalk, California, said Jennifer Stern, an administrative service manager at the county registrar office. Westwood Neighborhood Council recap – Nov. 9

The Westwood Neighborhood Council meets monthly to discuss issues pertaining to Westwood Village and the surrounding areas. Comments by public officials Jasmine Shamolian, a field representative for Councilman Paul Koretz, said she is working on a project that would plant trees on Westwood Boulevard after several trees were illegally cut down throughout Westwood. Unsold pastries help increase food accessibility and minimize waste

Students can now get free cakes, muffins and cookies at the Student Activities Center as part of a new undergraduate student government initiative. The USAC Facilities Commission’s new Food Waste Recovery Program, which began last week, delivers unsold pastries from coffee shops on campus to the Community Programs Office Food Closet every morning.
