A consultant for a pharmaceutical company falsely claimed to be a UCLA professor in a paper about EpiPen pricing. The American Journal of Medicine published the paper by Leonard Fromer, a former volunteer assistant professor of family medicine, in December that advocated for adding the allergy medication EpiPen to a federal list of preventive medical services. More than 100,000 students applied to UCLA for fall 2017, making it the first American university to surpass that milestone, UCLA officials announced Monday. About 8 percent more California high school seniors applied, an increase from 58,900 to 63,500 students. Read more...

Students can now fill their prescriptions at a new pharmacy in Ackerman Union. UCLA officials announced the opening of the Bruin Health Pharmacy on Monday. The 1200-square foot facility, located where the former textbook buyback program was, will have expanded window service and longer hours. Read more...
