About 15 students swarmed around two alpacas next to Haines Hall on Wednesday night. Erik Schweitzer, associate research neuroscientist at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, brought his two pet alpacas, Sage and Rosemary, to his three-hour long class to cheer students up. Next Generation Science Standards to reinvent student learning
California students will receive a more engineering design-based science education in a few years that will connect experiments more closely with concepts. City of Los Angeles to add about 20 trees to Westwood Boulevard
The city of Los Angeles will plant about 20 trees along Westwood Boulevard between Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards in the next few months. Roozbeh Farahanipour, a Westwood Neighborhood Council board member, said between 80 and 90 trees in the designated area were removed, cut or vandalized in the past several years and have not been replaced. Cosmetic dentist and UCLA alum brings smiles into the spotlight
