Two men to face charges for murder of UCLA student

Two men will be tried for the murder of a UCLA student within 60 days of Oct. 18, a judge decided Tuesday. County prosecutors charged Eric Marquez, a former biology student at UCLA, and Alberto Medina, a former Fresno State University student, with the murder of fourth-year psychology student Andrea “Andy” DelVesco in her Roebling Avenue apartment September 2015. UCLA initiates program to support first-generation college students

UCLA’s first-ever program for first-generation college students held its Welcome Soiree on Tuesday night in Covel Commons. First To Go, which was created in June, will focus on providing resources, networking opportunities and programming specifically for the first-generation students at UCLA, said Symone Morales, First To Go’s program coordinator. UCLA zooms towards carbon neutrality with new electric buses

UCLA officials unveiled two new electric BruinBuses at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Dickson Court on Tuesday. UCLA’s fleet now consists of 14 compressed natural gas buses and two new electric buses, which replaced UCLA’s last diesel-run buses, said Renee Fortier, executive director of UCLA Events and Transportation.
