UCPD searches for suspect in incident of sexual battery in Westwood Village

Editor’s note: The following article contains a description of a reported sexual battery incident. UCPD is searching for an individual suspected of an off-campus sexual battery incident that occurred Thursday afternoon.  According to a crime alert sent Friday, the suspect reportedly grabbed the victim by the shoulder and thrusted his pelvis against the victim’s buttocks at the southwest corner of Le Conte Avenue and Broxton Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. Read more...

United Auto Workers Local 4811 calls UCLA to ‘stand up,’ strike starting May 28

The move comes after the union – which represents academic student employees, graduate students, and academic and postdoctoral researchers – called upon its members at UC Santa Cruz to “stand up” May 20 as the first UC campus to strike.
